Xiaomi’s Black Shark gaming smartphone series has built up an excellent reputation among mobile gamers. Now the company looks to raise the bar even higher with the new Black Shark 5 Pro.
Design and Specs
Right off the bat, the 5 Pro make a splash with its 220g weight and 9.5mm thickness. But that bulk allows for top-tier hardware – the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset paired with up to 16GB of fast LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1/NVMe storage. There’s also improved cooling to keep things running smoothly during extended sessions.
Display and Audio
Xiaomi equipped the 5 Pro with a gorgeous 6.67-inch OLED screen running at 144Hz and a massive 1080p resolution. It supports HDR10+ and reaches up to 682 nits of brightness. Pairing the eye-catching display is dual stereo speakers and Snapdragon Sound tech for top-notch gaming audio.
Cameras and Battery
Around back is a 108MP main, 13MP ultrawide and 5MP telemacro camera array. A 16MP frontal cam handles selfies. But the real star may be the 4,650mAh battery than charges at an insanely-fast 120W – a full charge takes just 15 minutes!
Features and Pricing
Additional touches include Liquid Cooling 3.0, side-mounted fingerprint reader, pop-up shoulder triggers and more. Pricing starts around 1,300,000 Naira, for the base 128GB 8GB model. Early tests show the 5 Pro easily outperforming rivals in both gaming performance and daily use. This looks to be the most powerful gaming phone yet from Xiaomi’s Black Shark line.
